Three British individuals were apprehended in Alicante following a violent incident in Estepona, where a 31-year-old Lithuanian man was shot four times.

The shooting occurred around 5:30 PM on July 28, behind a chiringuito bar located near the Andalucia Beach residential area. The victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his chest and legs but survived the attack. Witnesses reported seeing the assailants, who wore hoods to conceal their identities, flee the scene in a dark vehicle with foreign license plates.

Staff from a nearby bar, Sonora Beach, rushed to assist the injured man before he was transported to Costa del Sol University Hospital in Marbella for urgent medical care.

The Policia Nacional arrested the three suspects during an operation in Orihuela Costa, Alicante, with the arrests made public recently. This area is known for its significant British expatriate community. Law enforcement officials conducted searches in the La Zenia urbanization, reportedly uncovering weapons, fake documents, and a small amount of drugs.

Two of the arrested individuals were remanded in custody after their initial court appearance in Orihuela, while the third was released on bail as investigations continue. They are facing charges that include attempted murder, drug trafficking, involvement in a criminal organization, document forgery, vehicle theft, and illegal possession of weapons. Authorities suspect that the attack was part of a conflict between rival drug gangs, and further arrests have not been ruled out as the investigation remains under judicial secrecy.
