Authorities in Estepona have detained seven Georgian nationals following the discovery of a torture chamber in a villa, initiated by a distress call from the girlfriend of one of the victims.

The incident unfolded on September 5, but details have only recently come to light after El Español reported on the findings. A Moroccan man had informed his partner that he was going to a work meeting, asking her to alert the police if he did not return within 20 minutes. When he failed to make contact after 40 minutes, she called the police, expressing her concerns.

Upon arrival, officers found no response at the property and decided to scale the fence, fearing for the man’s safety. At that moment, a bloodied, naked man emerged, claiming that those inside intended to kill him. This man was identified as the Moroccan victim.

Backup was called, and law enforcement entered the house, discovering a room lined with plastic sheeting and various tools, including pliers and hammers. Another victim, a Spanish man, was found bound to a chair, also naked and injured.

Investigators believe the plastic sheeting was used to conceal blood evidence, and it is suspected that the torture may be linked to drug-related conflicts, possibly involving a botched operation, a stolen drug shipment, or debts owed to the group. The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have not dismissed the possibility of seeking Interpol’s assistance in locating additional suspects.

This incident is part of a troubling trend, following a similar case in Marbella where 15 individuals were arrested earlier this year for the kidnapping and torture of four men, one of whom nearly succumbed to a diabetic coma.
