Estepona Town Hall

The Estepona Town Hall has awarded a contract worth €414,304 (including VAT) to Prefabricados López y Mochón S.L. for the supply and installation of prefabricated concrete walkways, draining platforms for showers and foot showers, as well as platforms for beach modules.

This project will involve the installation of 1,250 linear meters of fixed walkways and 80 units of platforms for beach modules, showers, and foot showers, all made from non-slip, wood-like concrete. These installations will comply with the accessibility regulations set forth in Andalusia regarding infrastructure, urban planning, and transportation.

The new concrete walkways are designed to improve access to the beaches, while the platforms will enhance the areas around the showers, foot showers, and beach modules. The Town Hall will allocate these features according to the service needs across the coastline.

This initiative will replace the existing wooden walkways, which were removed after each summer season and often suffered damage during storms. The concrete alternatives will provide greater durability and resistance to beach cleaning machinery, as well as lower maintenance requirements.

The prefabricated concrete walkways will enhance year-round accessibility, allowing individuals with reduced mobility to navigate from the promenade to both dry and wet sand areas, as well as to sanitation and lifeguard facilities. Notably, these walkways will be wider than the current wooden ones, measuring 1.80 meters.

Additionally, the awarded contract includes the installation of 30 extra walkway units. The execution time for this project has also been shortened from the originally planned 84 days to 49 days, starting from the contract signing. The contract further extends the warranty period to a total of four years.

Separately, the procurement process is ongoing for the supply and installation of six lifeguard modules, nine restroom modules, and one storage module, which will be distributed across Arroyo Vaquero, El Cristo, La Rada, Saladillo, El Padrón, and the Promenade.

This effort is part of a broader initiative to improve beach facilities in the municipality, encompassing both walkway installations and the provision of platforms for various coastal services.
