The Guardia Civil has dismantled a British drug trafficking organization that was moving cocaine from the Costa del Sol to the UK. During Operation Miscellaneous, authorities confiscated one tonne of cocaine, along with an array of weapons intended for safeguarding drug transport routes.

One British individual has been arrested, while five others face international arrest warrants after fleeing Spain. According to the Guardia Civil, the group operated from a property in Estepona, which served as a hub for processing the cocaine.

The drugs were transported to various ports across Spain in high-capacity vehicles before being shipped to Britain. The investigation commenced when a van was stopped in Talavera La Real (Badajoz), revealing 423 kilos of cocaine hidden in 17 sports bags. The driver escaped, but further inquiries traced the vehicle back to Estepona, prompting surveillance on multiple addresses.

Another significant seizure occurred shortly before, when a suspicious vehicle was tracked in an industrial area in Baza (Granada). Officers arrested the British driver after discovering 326 kilos of cocaine concealed in several suitcases, leading to his detention by the court.

After this incident, five gang members managed to leave Spain before law enforcement executed a raid on their Estepona base, where they uncovered an additional 265 kilos of cocaine, drug packing equipment, and a stockpile of firearms, including a rifle, a sub-machine gun, a semi-automatic handgun, and substantial ammunition.
